Capstone Projects

The MS-Marketing Capstone

During January – June, MS-Marketing graduate students engage in their integrated capstone learning experience which involves a five-month client project, tackled by individual graduate student consultants. The scope of these projects must be marketing-focused.

If your organization has a marketing opportunity suitable for a Capstone Project, please submit a proposal that addresses the following questions (please limit your proposal to 1-2 pps):

Who are you? Please provide a brief background of your organization. If your organization has multiple divisions/groups, please focus specifically on your sector. What sets your organization or group apart from others in your competitive set?

What are your current marketing issues/needs? Please identify the specific area of need that you believe would be appropriate for this Capstone Project. What is the business issue that is being addressed? How does the marketing need relate to that issue? What is the target audience related to this marketing need?

How would your project be a good learning experience for the MS student? Are there unique issues to address? Will a student partner with key personnel for this learning experience? How will students benefit from involvement with this project?

Who is your project’s key contact?

While the supply of students for the program is finite , it is difficult to guarantee that each project will have a student assigned. If your project is selected, your MS student will prepare a project charter (i.e., project description, goals, boundaries, action plan/timeline, budget, key client contacts, confidentiality agreements, and due dates) which serves as a key alignment tool for ensuring your MS consultant meets your needs.

Interested? Please submit your proposed projects to Professor Andrea Dixon no later than Friday, November 14, by emailing Andrea.Dixon@uc.edu. If you have any questions prior to submitting your proposal, please reach Andrea (office: 513.556.7113; mobile: 513.258.8016).
